About Us

It is with great pleasure that my colleagues, dermatologists in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the members of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, extend a warm welcome to all participants. We deeply appreciate your participation in the organization of the 16th World Congress of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. One of the primary objectives of the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery is to enhance scientific and practical expertise in the field of dermatology. With this aim, the Society has taken on the responsibility of organizing global and local conferences and seminars, providing a platform for specialists in the Kingdom and the region to present their studies and research findings. These events also serve as a valuable opportunity for trainee and newly practicing dermatologists to benefit from the sessions and lectures, allowing them to stay updated on the latest diagnostic and therapeutic advancements in their field. In addition, the Society encourages scientific research in dermatology and related fields. It conducts essential studies and research aimed at the prevention of certain skin diseases, particularly those endemic to the region, and publishes the results in scientific journals. Furthermore, the Society organizes intensive scientific courses for trainee doctors to prepare them academically and practically for fellowship exams. The Society has also launched a periodic scientific journal dedicated to publishing research and studies in dermatology, as well as the Arab Journal of Dermatology, a specialized publication focused on dermatologic surgery and aimed at raising health awareness across all segments of society. This journal also serves as a platform to correct many common health misconceptions through scientific articles, especially those related to dermatology. At this juncture, I would like to emphasize that achieving our aspirations in our specialized field requires great effort, perseverance, and diligent work from us, the doctors. This is well-known to everyone, and I urge my colleagues to actively participate in these scientific gatherings with their research, particularly our junior and trainee colleagues. Early and active participation has become a critical necessity for us to maintain the esteemed level we have attained and to achieve even greater success in the future, God willing. Finally, I would like to extend my gratitude and acknowledge the efforts of all my colleagues on the organizing and scientific committees of this conference for their dedicated work in preparing and organizing this scientific event.
